"Restoration is not easy, certain or inexpensive!" says John Kerr, co-owner of Metro Wines, "but it's worth it!" Most who have tackled an old building say that when you take down a wall, you never know what is behind it. Kerr continues: "Our contractor , Mike Massengill, found it, fixed it, restored and preserved what we could and donated the rest to Habitat for Humanity," says Kerr. "We added thick insulation far beyond the requirements, reducing the carbon footprint of the building for decades to come. We also installed equipment to filter viruses and bacteria from the air helping to protect our staff and customers. The building is now the best of both the 1923 world of its creation and the world we find ourselves in now."

"Mike rebuilt my deck; it was a challenging job, both technically and  physically. The project entailed rebuilding two levels of deck, along with stairs and railings. Mike cut the materials in my driveway, then hauled the materials up multiple flights of stairs.  He also suggested updating our deck to treks deck, which was the best move we could have made.  All this at a time when getting your hands on building materials was half the battle.  Mike managed all aspects of the project and was in my driveway ready to work @ 8:30 every morning.
